Singapore gets to host 1st YOG!!!

Yeah!!! I very excited now!! Must blog about it!! Hahaha!!!

So exhilarating!!! Really ecstatic that Singapore won the bid to host the 1st Youth Olympic games!! My guess and hunch was indeed right!!! Wooo hoooo!!!! Well done Singapore, especially the team involved in the bid!!!

Ok, none of my business actually... I'm not even a Singaporean hahah!! But I feel very proud for Singapore mah... Hmmm.. maybe I should go work for MCYS or Sports Council or the Olympic Committee, aiyah, whichever is the team who will be involved in putting the actual YOG together in 2010!

Another victorious feat that'll go down history! Beautiful! CELEBRATE, SINGAPORE!!!!

New nephew on the block!

My little nephew (my 2nd sister's first child) arrived in this world this afternoon!! So clever is this little chap to arrive during the Chinese New Year so he is still eligible for CNY ang baos haha!! But he's so adorable!! Worth it!!

My relatives said he looks like the daddy.. I say it's too early to tell hehe... Anyway, for those who need 4D numbers haha!!:

- baby arrived at 2.03pm, weighed about 2.9kg, sis stayed at room 324A, 3rd floor, Thomson Medical Centre

My sis endured for 4-5 hours before she decided to go on epidural... couldn't tahan.. ;p She told us about the process.. sorry, too private, cannot share ;p hahah but *ouch* and *yewwww!!!*

Something to think about - did you realise how amazing God's creation is? From our body constitution to the formation of a another human being within a woman's body to the birth of the child! AWESOME!

HK drama serial - 酒店风云

Anyone watching the above-mentioned drama? I love it! I love the (main) casts, I love the story and I love the 主题曲 sung by Cantopop singer 李克勤! It's very easy to recognise his voice cos it's very unique to him. In fact, Hacken Lee was (not sure if it's still) touted as the next Jacky Cheung! He is a very good singer, just perhaps never got the opporunity to make it big like the "Heavenly Kings" ;( BTW, the 主题曲 is called "心计". I was listening to it over and over and over again yesterday hahah!! Don't ask me how.... *shhh...* Oh.. if you can't wait and want to know all about the drama, you've got to check this out

I'm restraining myself to read the entire episode. More exciting to watch it!

Comparatively, I never think any of our local dramas could beat that of the HK. I don't know why... Singapore dramas are ever SOOOOOOO predictable that none has ever interest me! Perhaps there was just one or two but sorry, no impression!! Hahah!! The current Ch8 programme at 7pm, a collaboration with Malaysian casts.. isn't it the same story line as that of... err.. don't know the name of the drama but 黄碧仁 was the main cast who acted as a gongfu master cum compulsive gambler (her hubby was killed in a car accident). So, this time round, her good friend is taking after her role.. *sigh*.. so disappointing! I mean the plot ;p

Well, maybe it is not fair to compare given that HK drama has come a long way, much more than Singapore.. And any one time, they have a bigger cast compared to what we have on our tiny island ;) Nevertheless, please 加油!

Happy Valentine's Day - It's our birthday!

Ok, this is the first time I'm shouting about my birthday, which is also my hubby's birthday, on top of the supposedly loooomantic Valentine's Day! Anyway, V-Day is also a day for everyone to celebrate each other's love for friends, family and colleagues. So, it doesn't belong to only the couples, tio boh?? Hehe..

Oh, I received 18 sms-es on my birthday! Many thanks to all of you, and to others who have sent your blessings in other ways too!

Hubby and I were on leave, since the CNY. So it was a good long one week break for us, especially yours sincerely, cos I could get up late, like 10am haha!! Think I am such a lazy person! I am the sort of person who'd just "nuah" on the bed, until the cows come home haha!!

We weren't sure what we wanted to do on our birthday. We only knew we wanted to have a good meal and having heard much about Triple 3 Restaurant at Meritus Mandarin, I made a reservation for their lunch buffet. But, just the night before, we read some real bad reviews about the place, and the author described the quality of the food as "crappy" hahaha!! That certainly wasn't encouraging! Having been swayed by that, we changed our mind, and decided to go for dim sum lunch at Lei Garden, Chijmes. We wanted Wah Lok (Carlton Hotel) but it was fully booked!!

Any-the-wayzz, Lei Garden wasn't exactly fantastic too. For six tim sum dishes, a dessert, double boiled soup (good for 2 pax) and a plate of suckling pig & tofu, it cost $126 (including GST & tax)! The food was only ok - it wasn't that great so we didn't think it was worth paying that amount. My hubby said we might have been better off if we had stuck to Triple 3 where the lunch buffet cost S$55++ per pax haha!! Ooopss..

-> double boiled fish soup S$38: very tasty indeed but I don't know what kinda fish was used to boil the soup.

-> suckling pig (5 pcs) with tofu $32: very crispy pig skin and even tho' there was a layer of fat beneath it, it was quite yummy (but sinful!). But I got jar-lart after 2pcs. Con: has quite strong "piggy" taste if you know what I mean..

Each of the following tim sum basket cost between $3.90 to $5.90
-> Mango sago $6

Service was "good"! Too good to be true, to the extent I felt like I had to rush through my meal ;( haha!! The place seemed popular with many, cos shortly after we sat down, there were throngs of people who streamed in, mostly business lunches it seemed, with many who did the "lou-heh".. perhaps that's why the rush...

My rating? 3 of 5. Won't return cos we will go Wah Lok next time haha!!
