Boon Lay Raja Restaurant (29 Mar)

Actually this was my 2nd time at the restaurant within 3 DAYS hahah!! Was first introduced by IRO people when we had dinner on Thu 27 Mar, but cos I LOVE the dessert, specifically the honeydew sago, I dragged my hubby to go with me on Sat again hahah!! Oh, this restaurant is located at Blk 135 Jurong East St 13 #02-337 (opp Jurong East MRT), beside Jurong East Entertainment Centre.

We ordered their set menu meant for 2-3 persons - costs $55 (+ GST) with a total of 6 dishes including the dessert. This restaurant does not charge service charge - very good! Haha!! Oh, if you are planning for a dinner with a big group on weekends, it's advisable that you call 6563 6643 to make a reservation ;)

These were what we had:
-> Tofu (coated with vege) with mushrooms & vege

-> Nonya fish which is actually very appetizing!
-> Fried prawn with mango
-> Shucks! Can't remember this. Think its pork rib haha!!
-> More vege: celery with scallop (3 pieces only haha!!!)
-> TA DA!!! My favourite!! Honeydew sago with atap chee. I just love the "soup" which is probably coconut mix with very fragrant milk!!! Very thick & YUMMY!! *SLURP*!!

Rating: 4 of 5 - only because of the dessert which I'd want to eat it AGAIN!!! Haha!!

香港珍记 (28 Mar)

Was out dinner with my gang of crazy girls (actually, just 3 others) - Serene, Lisa and Doreen. Whenever we are together, we get rowdy and there will always be bouts of laughter, hysterical ones too hahah!! The unmarried (one of whom is the eldest) will call the married "aunties"!??! Now, who's the auntie here? Hahah!!

Anyway, as Lisa drives, she drove us to this regular place she goes it - 香港珍记, along Cheong Chin Nam Road - the row of food oulets opposite Bukit Timah Shopping Centre. I must say the quality of food is quite good for the price we paid. For 7 dishes (small size), we paid a total of about S$60. Quite worth it, we thought. These were what we had (paiseh.. pictures not very well taken hehe..):

-> Fish slice bee hoon soup
-> 三捞河粉
-> 虾枣
-> 排骨王
-> 虾酱鸡
-> Fried baby kailan

Rating: 4 out of 5. Worth a try and return!

The amazing clouds!

Took these pictures on campus cos I realised I seldom see this kinda cloud formation. Or is it just that I haven't been out to notice much?? Hahah!! Sorry, think my mobile phone's camera did not do justice to the clear blue sky it was suppose to be.

Curious, I ran through a search on wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clouds and found that this is called "altocumulus mackerel sky"and that it is called "mackerel sky" cos it is similar to the markings of an adult king mackerel (err.. I say.. "where got???")

"Altocumulus mackerel sky" falls within what is commonly classified as "middle clouds" as they develop between 6,500 and 20,000 feet.

Anyway, very nice hoh....??? Heheee....

This was taken in the evening (about 7.30pm) on the same day... another different formation.

Manhill Restaurant (13 Mar)

Moistly fried egg with prawns. Very good!

Fried vege with ham. Very nice!

Famous beef claypot. So fantastic you can have bowls and bowls of white rice with even just the sauce! Hahah!

Believe this is no stranger to many people who loves to eat! Tucked away at Pasir Panjang (99 Pasir Panjang Road) on a 2-storey shophouse, Manhill has been around many many years.. (I don't know how many lah... haha) It was also the don't-know-how-many-times we've been there, and Manhill will always come to mind when we want have beef claypot! SEDAP! Even better than Crystal Jade's ;p The best I've tried so far (err.. not like I've tried beef claypot from all over the entire island though hahaha!!)

And for reasons we do know know, it is also very popular with Japanese, and frequently patronised by these Japanese who work nearby.

So, it's of course a "must-try" place loh... Go, go, go!!
P/S: Apparently, they have a sister restaurant called Hillman (formerly at Cantonment Road) at Kitchener Road.

Who owe who??

Again, I have to blog about this cos I thought this incident is quite ridiculous haha!!

I received a letter from an ex-employer saying I owed them some amount of medical expenses I had incurred before my last day of service. Now, let me analyse this:

1. First of all, I had left that company 2 years ago!

2. Since this happened donkey months ago, I emailed to the HR asking for "proof". I am concerned with the amount which anyway is only <$4, but rather, I am just trying to be naughty ;p. So, HR pdf-ed the invoice billed by the supplier, which was dated in Mar 2006! GOTCHA!!! Hahah!! If they were billed 2 years ago, what took them so darn long to inform me???? So, I queried HR again, but to date they have yet to (be able to) reply my email! Hahahha!!

3. Thirdly, if you notice, their letter was dated 27 Feb 2008. I got it in the evening on 28 Feb 2008 and I am expected to send them a cheque by 3 Mar 2008?? Harlow???

4. The most infuriating thing is their opening sentence asking me to refer to their note dated 23 Mar 2006. Excuse mua???!! I didn't receive any of such note hoh... I thought, no point me asking for "proof" of the letter since they could have simply typed one on the spot right? Hahah!!

5. I realised that I am not the only one who kena this letter. An ex-colleague is also in the same situation hahaha!! (as of 11 Mar, I know of a 3rd person who also kena haha!)

So, you wanna guess what happened??? I'm guessing it must be audit checks lah hahaha!!

Ok lah ok lah, I think I should not be so KL lah! Will send them the cheque lah.. *hmph* hahahha!!

I have to blog about this cos of my niece's new haircut. Can you believe that this little imp in my family, only 8 years old, cut her own fringe??? Hahaha!! If it's nice, she's a genius! But truth is, errrr.. totally cannot make it!!! Hahha!! I told her I must take photos of her and send it to my cousin overseas but she shy.. and even cried hahaha!! Ok, I admit I bullied her lah... buahhahaha!! I believe this will be the joke that will be carried throughout her life hahaha!!

Ok, now this is the younger brother of the little imp.. who goes around with his little bear.. 6 years now.. He's quite a complain king hahaha!!! Always telling my hubby how other little cousins were not behaving etc haha!! Harlow!! Be a man!!

Then, the youngest one, less than one month old. These are his photos taken on his 12th day of birth ;)
